Man in 30s shot dead by police in southeast Perth

A man has been shot dead by police after a “disturbance” in southeast Perth.

WA Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Fremantle Rd, Gosnells about 1am on Monday.

“While responding, an officer discharged their firearm causing a man in his 30s to receive a gunshot wound,” WA Police said in a statement.

The man died at the scene and an investigation was immediately launched.

“There is no threat to community safety, however, members of the community are asked to avoid the area at this time,” police said.

Two police officers were also injured during the incident and have been rushed to Armadale Hospital for treatment.
